TAP Dogs Needing Special Assistance

With our rescue focusing on dogs that wouldn’t have a chance elsewhere, your sponsorship will help us give ‘your’ sponsored dog not just the basic vetting, spay & neuter, and daily care that he/she needs, but also extended care for those with special medical challenges or special life needs. By sponsoring a dog for even just a small monthly amount, you are giving them the hope they need and the realization that there is good in a world that has wronged them. Special Dogs Needing Sponsorship

  • Special Needs: Abu is on medications and supplements: Galliprant 20mg ($30/month), Gabapentin ($20/2-months), Dasuquin joint supplement ($35/3-months), omega3 fish oil supplement ($25/2-months). He recently got his front right leg amputated and has arthritis in all of his other legs so he is undergoing physical therapy working on strengthening them without overdoing it! He also recently started a vegetarian dog kibble ($50/12-lb-bag) to try and get his allergies under control so that he doesn’t have to go to the vet every 6 weeks for an allergy shot.

    Sponsorship Needs: Although Abu has a permanent foster, he has alot of on-going permanent medical costs that TAP is providing for.  He needs 2 medications, 2 supplement, and vegetarian dog kibble daily to control his arthritis and skin allergies.  Because of his amputation and arthritis, he also needs recurring dog physical therapy.
    If you find it in your heart to help out Abu financially, that will ensure he sustains a high quality of life.  A $30/month recurring donation covers half of his medications and supplements; $60/month covers them all.  A $165/month recurring donation covers his special food and all his medications and supplements.  A $150/month recurring donation can also offset his physical therapy sessions.

  • Special Needs: Gizmo has skin allergies and his skin and fur are still healing. He is taking Apoquel (~$93.00 for a months supply; price will vary on market value and depends on where purchased). He also requires twice-weekly medicated baths with MiconaHex + Triz Shampoo (~$25 for a bottle). He also uses Mometavet ear ointment (~$11.00 per tube (price depends on where purchased and market value).

    Sponsorship Needs: Gizmo is recovering from skin problems from before he was rescued, and in the short term needs some special help. His medicines both help his skin and fur to recover, and help with itchiness during that recovery. $11 gets him the ear ointment for several weeks, while $25 gets him medicated baths during that time. $100 keeps him from scratching and re-damaging his skin for a month.

Many TAP rescues have severe medical issues and need medical care long before their fostering and adoption. The images are difficult to look at. But our Care Team and Vetting Team volunteers provide medical treatments, special diets, and emotional comfort to numerous dogs that stay at our Headquarters Facility while they heal. These dogs need extraordinary care, and unfortunately that comes with larger costs to us for their care.   • – $250 covers all intake vetting – exams, vaccines, initial medications
  • – $500 covers all intake vetting plus spay & Neuter, and food for a month
  • – $2500 covers full sponsorship from intake to adoption
