Personality: Gizmo is a very calm and easy going guy who doesn't need much to be the best companion, very sweet and affectionate! He has a great temperament and is chill with a silly goofy side. He is such a happy dog, low to medium energy, and likes to chill on a comfy bed. He has no anxiety and is down to go on adventures but also happy hanging out by himself at home. Gismo loves being around his people and relaxing. He is great with people of all ages and has no problem meeting strangers.

Education: Potty trained and is very good at telling you if he needs to go potty so you don't have to worry about accidents. Crate trained and walks well on leash. He's fine being left in a crate for long periods, but a crate is not needed because he is not destructive when left alone.

Favorite Activities: Napping, sun bathing, hanging out with his people, adults and kids, getting snuggles and tummy rubs, going on walks and car rides, sniffing around in the yard and looking for gophers. He also enjoys getting snacks, food and treats, and PEANUT BUTTER.

Looking For: Gizmo would thrive in a loving mellow home with someone who appreciates his snuggly, laid-back nature and can provide plenty of companionship. Probably best as an only dog or with a calm assertive dog that will help him learn boundaries. He is great with respectful kids. He's ok home alone or with someone who works out of the home full time.

Special Needs: Gizmo has skin allergies and is taking Apoquel (~$93.00 for a month's supply; price will vary on market value and depends on where purchased). He also requires twice-monthly medicated baths with MiconaHex + Triz Shampoo (~$25 for a bottle).

Sponsorship Request: Gizmo is recovering from skin problems from before he was rescued, and in the short term needs some special help. His medicines both help his skin and fur to recover, and help with itchiness during that recovery. $25 gets him medicated baths during that time. $100 keeps him from scratching and re-damaging his skin for a month. Even if you cannot adopt or foster Gizmo, a sponsorship donation will help pay for his skin and fur recovery.
