Personality: Easy-going, very sweet and loving, with lots of energy. Sonrisa is very gentle with people and doesn't bark much at all. She also doesn't seem anxious in different situations: around loud environments, the restaurant, loud kids at home, etc. She is a little worried when her humans leave, but so far she seems to be doing fine in her crate. She is the perfect mix of active and chill. Sonrisa smiles a lot and wags her tail constantly; she spreads sunshine and happiness! She is so loving with her humans and just wants to be with them and be loved.

Education: Fully bathroom trained and crate trained and walks great on the leash. She is pretty smart, and learns quickly; she already learned some basic commands like sit and down.

Favorite Activities: Playing with her toys and with other dogs and going for long walks, spending time with her humans; snuggling at any time day or night, and relaxing at home!

Looking For: A loving home to provide her with exercise and take her out on long walks. Sonrisa is good with other dogs, although she can be bossy sometimes, showing them how she wants and doesn't want to play, but she is easy to redirect and does not cause any problems. She will be fine in a home with another dog or a cat with proper introduction, or she can be an only pet. She is great with kids, so having kids in the house would be good, too!

Hi there! I’m Sonrisa – a sweet, five-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing about 46 pounds. I’m healthy, not yet spayed, and so ready to find my forever family!

Even after braving the horrific conditions at ESLR, I’m a happy-go-lucky girl with a heart full of love. I have lots of energy when I’m outside and enjoy playing and going on long walks, but I’m just as content curling up on the couch for snuggles with my favorite people. I’m gentle, always wagging my tail, and I’m not much of a barker. My biggest goal in life? To love and be loved.

As far as my skills are concerned, I’m fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and I walk beautifully on a leash. I’m a smart girl, too – I already know my basic commands and learn quickly. I’m generally a relaxed pup and do well in all kinds of environments, from busy restaurants to homes with loud kids. I only have a little separation anxiety, which gets better as I settle in. While I’m not sure how I feel about cats, I love being around kiddos and other dogs.

Snuggling is one of my favorite hobbies (anytime, anywhere!), along with playing with toys and doggie friends. I love my walks but also enjoy lounging around the house. I’m the perfect balance of playful and chill, and I’m incredibly loving. I smile a lot, wag my tail nonstop, and bring sunshine wherever I go. I just want to be close to my humans and soak up all the love!

Because I’m so easy-going, I could be happy in many types of homes – especially an active one. I’d make a wonderful family dog, but I’d also do fine in a home without kids. I’d love doggie siblings, but I’d be perfectly happy as your one and only, too. I’d prefer a home where someone is around most of the day, since I thrive on companionship, but with time and comfort, I can learn to be alone for longer stretches.
