Description
Meet Malloy!
He is a very friendly, sweet and chill 5 year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who was found as an unneutered stray in Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park in October 2025 (thus the name “Malloy”). He is now neutered and in foster care.
He quickly became a volunteer favorite at Harbor Animal Care Shelter because of his sweet and easy-going nature. He developed ataxia-like symptoms (balance issues) in the beginning of December and was given a euthanasia date of January 12th, 2026 but was saved by his foster mom who is now taking care of this sweet boy.
Malloy has already seen the vet twice and recently had an MRI. Despite his health issues, Malloy is the perfect dog – he is great with other dogs and absolutely loves and adores people! He loves going on walks, getting pets from everyone he meets, and is a joy to have around. He is potty trained, crate trained, and even chooses to sleep in his crate with the door open! Malloy loves car rides, and adventures with his people, has no separation anxiety, and walks with him are an absolute breeze!
He is well – mannered and relaxed; if not for his medical issues, he would be the easiest, happiest companion. Currently, Malloy is doing quite well, and with routine care, he enjoys a great quality of life – and nothing stops him from being the loving, easy companion he is.
