Description
Meet Malloy!
He is a very friendly and sweet 5 year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who was found as an unneutered stray in Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park in October 2025 (thus the name “Malloy”).
He quickly became a volunteer favorite at Harbor Animal Care Shelter because of his sweet and easy-going nature. He developed ataxia-like symptoms (balance issues) in the beginning of December and was given a euthanasia date of January 12th, 2026.
Malloy has the following Presumptive Diagnosis: “Patient suspected of brainstem syndrome secondary to a neoplastic process vs. meningoencephalitis of unknown origin, with suspected secondary or diffuse cerebellar involvement. Prognosis is guarded for function and survival.” Vet recommended further diagnostics (MRI).
Currently, Malloy is doing quite well, but his long term prognosis is unknown. He is listed as Major Medical and will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by January 12th.
Please help if you can!
