Low-Maintenance, Loving, and Totally Trained? That’s Me!
Hi! I’m Ella Thornberry, a 4-year-old, 40-pound cattle dog mix who is ready to be your bestie! I have an easy-going disposition that makes life with me a breeze. I may be a bit shy at first, but give me a comfy couch and some sunshine, and I’ll be your best friend in no time!
I was rescued from the streets of Tijuana, where I had a TVT tumor on my nose. Thanks to some amazing people and chemotherapy, I’m now cancer-free and feeling great! Through it all, I’ve stayed gentle, sweet, and full of trust. I’m ready for my next chapter—with someone who’ll love me as much as I love them.
I’m low-maintenance: I’m fully house-trained (never had an accident!), leash-trained (I walk like a pro), and I don’t bark much at all. I do like to greet new people with a little howl—just my way of saying hello! I enjoy leisurely strolls, sunbathing in the yard, and cozying up on the couch beside you.
When things get a little too lively—like when a bunch of new people visit—I can feel a bit anxious. I might nibble gently or chew on a toy (or, okay, a shoe), but once I settle in, I go right back to being my chill self. I’m currently living with a cat, and we get along great. I’m friendly with other dogs too—especially the mellow kind—and I’m gentle with kids of all ages.
I’m perfectly content with some alone time, but I really love having someone around. A quiet home where I can feel safe and sunbathe to my heart’s content would be a dream. I’d do great as your one-and-only or with another calm dog who respects my space.
My foster says I’m one of the easiest dogs they’ve ever had and even offered to dog-sit me for free in San Diego—because once you meet me, you’ll see how special I really am! If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion who will love you deeply and quietly brighten your every day, what are you waiting for? Let’s meet—I have a feeling we’re meant to be!
My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
