Meet Aurora (aka Cappella)
Aurora is a 5-year-old Shepherd mix with a playful spirit, a loyal heart, and so much love to give to the right home. She’s looking for a fresh start with someone who understands her and will help her feel safe, confident, and at home.
This 50-pound girl is full of life—she loves to run, chase, and play (and yes, she hopes you’ll join in). After a good burst of energy, she’s perfectly content curling up at the foot of your bed. She adores chin scratches and ear rubs, prefers to approach you on her own terms, and absolutely thrives on gentle affection and kind words.
Aurora is fully potty trained, has lived successfully with a cat, and does well with other dogs off-leash—she’s even enjoyed doggy daycare and boarding environments. She would likely do best in an active home, ideally with another confident, playful dog.
Aurora will do best in an adult-only home. She’s most comfortable with clear boundaries and space, especially when on leash, where she prefers not to be approached by unfamiliar people or dogs. With thoughtful introductions and a patient approach, she forms deep bonds—warming up more quickly to women, while men may just need a little extra time.
In the home, she may be vocal at first when meeting new people, but with calm guidance, she settles in and shows just how affectionate and devoted she can be. Once she trusts you, Aurora is incredibly loyal—she’s the kind of dog who becomes your shadow and your biggest fan.
Aurora is looking for someone who will respect her boundaries, continue to build her confidence, and give her the structure she needs to thrive. In return, she’ll offer a level of loyalty and companionship that’s truly special.
Aurora’s ideal home:
- Adult-only
- Active lifestyle (running buddies welcome!)
- Someone experienced or committed to understanding dog behavior
- A home that will advocate for her space and boundaries
- Another dog companion is a bonus

Aurora’s Adoption Fee is $250 and that includes spay, vaccines and microchip.
