Rose

Sweeter than thy name, Rose!

Rose is a young 9 months to 1 year old female Dachshund-Terrier mix who is a healthy 39 lb dog. She still has puppy fat and puppy coat, without much rowdy puppy energy, so her foster mom thinks she might grow a bit more. She was found by one of our vet office people who found her being bullied and abused by some kids on the street. They were hitting her with a metal chain and stuffing her into a shopping cart. The vet people intervened, took her in and then TAP decided that this girl deserves all the love in the world! Her foster fam took her under their wings to ensure she has a wonderful home while she learns and grows and moves to her forever family. She is working on crate and leash training, and is almost potty trained.

Rose is proof that angels exist! She is the sweetest puppy possible with such soft, mellow energy! Earning her trust may take a bit of time but a kiss from her makes it absolutely worth it! She has come out of her shell somewhat with her foster family, but is naturally a bit introverted and independent. She hangs out calmly in her crate while her foster mom works, and will take herself to another room if she wants some “me” time. She almost never barks and is very gentle when giving kisses and nibbles. She even mouths at her toys gently! She adores her foster brother Finn who is a giant version of her and loves to play between his tall legs! This sweet lowrider loves to walk and sniff the flowers along the way. She is a wonderful companion and with more socialization she will be great date around town to breweries, parks, and beaches. She is extremely friendly and submissive to both dogs and people. She hasn’t met cats and children yet, but we think she will do great with both!

Rose will be perfect in a home that gives her love and patience to settle in. She would love a canine companion, or an active social life with lots of doggie play dates. This pet’s adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots and microchip.
