Personality: Ulrich is a very sweet, curious, and smart boy who thrives with routine and consistent training and responds very well to commands. He is very friendly and gentle, sometimes a little shy with the strangers but warms up once he gets to know people. He is very playful but also loves relaxing after his exercise and games next to his people.

Education: House trained, crate trained, and is a good boy on the leash. He enjoys mental stimulation and knows basic commands.

Favorite Activities: Ulrich loves to run around in the backyard playing fetch games with the frisbee or a ball and then relaxing on the couch with his humans. He gets especially excited when it rains because he loves to splash around in the puddles, though the garden hose can provide similar amounts of water-related fun. He loves chew toys and is a big fan of fruit and veggies.

Looking for: A loving home where he will be an only dog, will have access to the backyard, and can continue learning new skills and commands. He loves water and hopes his people will take him to the beach or will allow him to play with the water from the garden hose.

Special needs: Ulrich has a protein allergy, so he requires a special diet (he's done really well on Royal Canin's Hydrolyzed Protein food). He has also been taking Fluoxetine for a year and a half but is a really good pill taker with a little peanut butter for encouragement.

 

Ulrich is a four and a half year old medium-sized poodle/lab mix. He loves to run around in the backyard playing catch with the frisbee or chasing a ball and is excited to put his smart brain to the test learning new skills. He gets especially excited when it rains, because he loves to splash around in the puddles, though the garden hose can provide similar amounts of water-related fun.

He is very sweet, always excited to greet you when you get home from work, and likes to thoroughly inspect incoming mail and packages. He hasn’t met a fruit or veggie he doesn’t like, though carrots, broccoli, and strawberries are his favorites.

Ulrich can appreciate other dogs from a distance, but he would be much more successful as an only dog. It can take a bit for him to warm up to strangers, except at the vet, where he has been thrilled to see all the technicians since day one.

Ulrich is a very good boy who appreciates routine and the comforts of home, wanting nothing more than to curl up on the couch in the evening and watch some TV after a rousing game of fetch or tug of war. He is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He has a protein allergy, so he requires a special diet (he’s done really well on Royal Canin’s Hydrolyzed Protein food).
