The gentleman!
Well, hello there! I’m Sir Harrington, and I’m a 3-year-old, 55-pound neutered Poodle Mix with a heart as fluffy as my coat. My story didn’t start off too well – I was sadly abandoned after being hit by a car. But, as luck would have it, I found my way to TAP, made a full recovery, and now I’m on the lookout for my perfect forever family!
I’m a rather affectionate chap who loves humans and meeting new people –especially if I get to shake “hands”! Once I find my person, I form an unbreakable bond and become quite the loyal companion. I’ve got plenty of energy and absolutely love a good game of fetch or playing with my toys. That said, I do have a softer side, too, as I’m quite the fan of napping, snuggling, and soaking up all the attention I can get.
One thing I’m working on is my separation anxiety, as I do tend to bark a fair bit when left alone. But with patience, training, and lots of love, I know I can improve! As for house training, I’m nearly there – just had a couple of early accidents while settling into my foster home. I’m fully crate-trained and making strides with my leash training; although I do pull and can be a bit reactive to other dogs when I’m out on walks. But with the right guidance, I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it in no time!
I’d do best in a home with an active family who can keep up with my playful nature and give me all the love and attention I need. A garden to zoom around in would be lovely! I haven’t been around children much, but I believe I’d be just fine with older ones (I’m a bit bigger than I realize and wouldn’t want to accidentally knock over any little ones). Other than that, I’m also cat-friendly and could get along with the right dog, given a proper introduction.
