Hi! I’m Shadow, a 10-month-old, 38-pound male neutered Poodle mix. My past wasn’t the best, but I’m making up for it now—I was living outside with little to no human interaction before, and my family at the time didn’t care for me properly. they relinquished me and my siblings to the shelter where I was placed in their behavior center as I was extremely shut down. after surviving there for a month, TAP bailed me out! At my sweet foster home, I’m safe and starting to trust again. I’m working on crate training, leash walking, and potty training, so I’m making progress.
I may be a little shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I’m all cuddles, zoomies, and endless playtime! I’m very dog-friendly and love to meet dogs of all sizes—so if you’ve got other pups, I’m all in! I’m a bit nervous around cats though, so I like to keep my distance from them. As for kids, I did meet some briefly, and I think I’d do best with older kids who are calm and don’t make too much noise. Little ones running around can be a bit overwhelming for me. I can be a little anxious around new people since I wasn’t socialized much as a pup, but I promise, I warm up quickly if you’re patient. I may not want to be touched right away, but I’m really sweet, playful, and super energetic once I trust you. I love playing with other dogs, running around, and getting lots of pets!
I’d do best in a home with another playful dog to help me learn the ropes. I’m looking for a family who loves to be active and playful. If that sounds like you, we’re going to have so much fun! I’m super smart and already starting to learn some tricks. I’ll be your shadow, always following you around and making you smile with my goofy antics.
