“Red Rover, Red Rover—send my furever home over!”

Hi pals! I’m Rover, a 1-year-old, 45-lb Shepherd mix, and I’m here to bring fun, adventure, and a whole lot of love into your life! I was saved from the Devore euthanasia list, and now I’m ready to get the most out of this second chance at life. I can’t wait to find my pawfect match—someone who can keep up with my zoomies and appreciate my goofy personality.

I thrive in an active, dog-savvy home where someone is around most of the time. I love people (especially if they give me cuddles and FOOD), but I do best as the only pet in the home, with playdates instead of live-in dog siblings. I’m kid-friendly but will need guidance around younger ones since I have my own puppy energy!

Let’s be real—I’m a high-energy dude. Right now, I get walked/ran four miles a day, and I still have fuel in the tank! If I don’t get enough exercise, I’ll let you know with some good ol’ fashioned howling and sass. When I’m tired? I’m the sweetest, cuddliest pup ever. I’m potty trained but struggle with leash walking—I pull, lunge, and even managed to give myself a welt trying to escape a gentle leader. I also hate crates (like, destroy-them-in-20-minutes hate). But here’s the good news: I’m super smart and highly trainable! If you’re willing to put in the work, I’ll be right there learning alongside you.

I won’t sugarcoat it—I have separation anxiety. If left alone, I cry, bark, and can be destructive. I’ll need a home where someone is around most of the time to help me feel secure. Also, I’m terrified of water and baths, so don’t expect me to be a beach dog (unless you want to carry me in!).

My good boy training may be a work in pawgress, but I promise– I’m worth every bit of effort. I’m loyal, loving, and always ready for an adventure. If you have the time, patience, and energy, I promise to be your most affectionate, hilarious, and devoted best friend. Are you ready to bring me home? Red Rover, Red Rover—send my human over!

My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
