Well-balanced and loving!

Hi there! I’m Reggie, and I’m a 4-year-old, 54-pound neutered Shepherd Mix male. I was rescued from the notorious Ellos Son La Razon shelter in Mexico, and, boy, am I relieved to be out of there and headed to my furever home!

My foster mama tells me that I’m a sweet, loving, and affectionate boy, who is well-behaved and easy-going.  I’m medium-energy and love to play when it’s play time, but as soon as it’s time to settle down, I’m a master at chilling out, too. I love to say hi to everyone I meet but have a calm and confident temperament, making me a great companion to take along to coffee shops and restaurants.

I love playing with other doggie friends and am good at matching their energy levels and understanding their cues.  I also enjoy playing with toys, going on walks, running next to my humans while they’re on a bike, going swimming at the beach, chewing on bones, and looking deep in your eyes as I give you licks on the face.

As far as my training goes, I’m fully potty-trained and crate-trained.  I also do great on a leash and am very easy to walk.  I don’t have any reactivity to other dogs and have never barked. I’m not the anxious type, either, and don’t have any issues being left behind for hours at a time. One thing I am working on, though, is my food protectiveness. I like to eat in my crate away from everyone else, but lately I’ve started to realize that no one is going to take my food away. With further training in this area, I’m sure that I’ll be able to overcome this tendency in no time!

My perfect home would be one that gives me lots of love and sufficient daily exercise (a couple of daily walks, a trip to the dog park, or a long hike). A doggie sibling (or two) is highly recommended, and kiddos would be a great match for me since I’m so sweet and gentle.  As far as kitties go, I’ve never shown any prey drive around them, so I’m sure we would get along together just fine. Other than that, I promise to spread joy to the household and be a loving and happy addition to your home!

My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. I can also be found on Instagram at @Cutie_Coco_Doggo (I have my own highlight section).
