Hey, friends! I’m Penelope, a sweet and spunky 1.5-year-old Hound mix weighing in at a huggable 50 pounds. I had a ruff start, coming from the heartbreaking conditions at the ESLR “shelter” in Ensenada, but I’m ready to leave the past behind and sniff out a future in a loving home with you!
I’m dog-friendly, human-loving, and as chill as they come. I adore meeting new doggy pals, and while I might play it cool at first, I’m soon ready to join in the fun. I’m super tolerant, easygoing, and rarely need to correct other dogs. Cats and kids? Haven’t officially shared a home with them yet, but I’ve met kids on leash and handled it like a pro, if I do say so myself.
When it comes to energy, I don’t have too much or too little—I’m just right! I love a quick round of zoomies before settling down for a cozy nap. My favorite activities include playing with stuffy toys, chewing on benebones, and snuggling up with my humans. I’m not too clingy—I know how to give you space, but I’m always here for a cuddle when you need one.
I’m a proper lady who is already crate-trained and house-trained (never had an accident indoors!). No separation anxiety here— but I’ll be sure to greet you with a wagging tail when you return.

I’d love a home with another dog to show me the ropes, but I’d also thrive as the solo pup with a family willing to be just a bit patient as I settle in.
