Hi pals, I’m Mem! A 4-year-old, 60-pound terrier mix with a huge heart, an obsession with sunshine, and an even bigger love for snugs. If you’re looking for a best friend who will always be by your side (literally—I’ll follow you from room to room), I might just be the one for you!
I was pulled from the San Diego Humane Society and have been settling into home life beautifully. I’m super gentle with every human I’ve met, and if you stop petting me, I’ll politely remind you with a little paw tap or some kisses. I thrive on attention and would do best in a home where someone is around during the day to give me love and belly rubs. When I’m not soaking up affection, you’ll find me soaking up the sun—I can nap for hours!
I have some skin allergies, so I get Cytopoint injections every 6-8 weeks to keep me comfortable (price varies based on the vet). I also need to lose a few pounds, but I’ve been working on it with three walks a day. I love my walks, but I do get pretty excited when I see other animals—dogs, cats, birds, you name it—so I pull hard. Because of my high prey drive, I shouldn’t live with cats, and I’d likely do best as the only pet in the home. As for kids, I haven’t met many yet, but I’ve been very gentle with all the humans I’ve encountered.
I’m potty trained and know my basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “no.” I don’t use my crate much anymore, but I have no problem with it. I also ride pretty well in the car—sometimes I get a little nervous at first, but I usually settle down and nap. My pawfect day includes some walks, some playtime with my tennis ball (don’t worry, I won’t chew your shoes), and plenty of time lounging in the sun with my favorite humans nearby.
