Turn your heart up to the MAX!
Hi, there! My name is Max. I’m a super sweet boy who can’t wait to find a family of my own. I’m a 2-year-old, 58-pound German Shepherd mix. I’m already neutered and I’m a healthy guy. I was recently taken in by The Animal Pad when the shelter I was in moved out of state. I’ve gone through a lot of ruff changes in my short life, but I’m still hopeful that I’ll find love in a furever home!
I’m a big softie who loves his people, kids included. Because of all the ups and downs that I’ve gone through, I’m a very shy guy around strangers (people and pooches). Other medium to large dogs intimidate me and make me anxious. When given a proper introduction, I can get along with little dogs. With patience and practice, I’m hoping to build my confidence and make other puppy pals. It will probably take me a little time to adjust to my new home, but once I do, my playful side comes out! I’m a happy-go-lucky guy who loves playing fetch and romping around the yard. I have a huge heart and tons of potential! I just need a loving human who can teach me that the world isn’t such a scary place, and I am taking Prozac to help my anxiety.
I’m a well-behaved boy who never has accidents in the house. I do well on walks but I pull a bit on the leash. I don’t get any separation anxiety and I’m happy chilling at the house while you run your errands. I’m a bit of a homebody! I bark when I hear people outside the door, so I’m a great guard dog. All in all, I’d love to keep working on my confidence so that I can become the best boy ever.
My ideal furever home is one that will give me lots of love and patience as I adjust to my new environment. I’d do great as a family dog because I adore kids! I think I’d benefit from a yard so that I have a safe space to play while I get comfortable. I’ve been through a lot of changes, but once I find that special family, I know that my pawsonality will shine. Turn your love to the MAX by adopting Max! My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
