Adoptable: Lincoln: Courtesy Post

Age: 2 years old

Gender: Male

Breed: Pitbull/Great Dane Mix

Weight: 85 lbs

Personality: Lincoln is a high-energy boy who has a playful and loving personality. He’s a true Velcro pup and loves to follow his humans everywhere. Half of him enjoys being outdoors and getting lots of exercise, while his other half prefers to be napping in bed or on the couch cuddling all day. Overall, he’s a joy to be around and would make a wonderful and loyal companion.

Education: Lincoln is completely potty trained and has never had any accidents. Leash and crate training have been ongoing, but he has been making good progress. He could really benefit with additional training in these areas once in his furever home. Lincoln is also working on his stranger danger around certain people (typically males or those in uniform) and will growl and become tense.

Favorite Activities: Lincoln loves taking walks/runs/hikes, going to the beach, attending doggie play groups, cuddling in bed, chewing on toys, playing at home, and being with his humans.

Looking for: Lincoln would do best in a mix of a mellow and active home, preferably with an outdoor space for him to zoom around in. He’d do fine either with or without other furry siblings (he is cat- and dog-friendly), but kiddos are a no-go since he has the tendency to play rough. Lincoln would love to have human company during the day but would be ok alone at home as long as he is crated. Lincoln would thrive with an owner who could provide ongoing and consistent training.

Special needs: Lincoln has moderate separation anxiety. He has been given small doses of anxiety medication to help combat this anxiety when left for a long time in a crate, and this seems to have helped significantly. He has already been neutered.

Adoption Fee: $ 200

Background: Lincoln was rescued from Skid Row in February 2024. He was being traded for drugs, but his rescuer was able to scoop him up by offering his previous owner a $5 bill. Lincoln has been in his rescuer’s care ever since. It is believed that Lincoln was abused while living on the streets.
