For she’s more than that cutest head tilt!

Hey fellas! You see me flyin’ around? It me, June Bug. I am a 4 year old, female Pug-Beagle or Puggle mix, weighing about 20 lbs. I was rescued from the SD Humane Society because TAP knew I needed a helping paw and a well-deserved home. Currently I am chillin’ at my foster home and learning good manners. I have aced bathroom training and working on my leash manners. You see, I have something going on with my neck, pawsibly an old trauma injury, that gives me the head tilt. I am mostly okay but need a harness. I have been spayed already.

As incredibly sweet I am, I am very anxiety-prone. The world hasnt been kind to me and I am learning that not all people are alike. However, while I figure that out, I get a lot of anxiety and feel scared. I need space and patience to gain comfort. It took me a week to learn that my foster home was safe and warm, and even though I am not totally okay with pets yet, I give my foster dad and mom sweet kisses everytime I see them! I am scared when my foster kiddo siblings are doing their kid things and tend to run away and hide. But when they are calm and relaxing, I manage to give them toe kisses! The yard is my safe spot where I can go if I feel overwhelmed. With other dogs too, I get scared initially and prefer to be off-leash to be able to hide away if needed. But if the other dog is calm and there is enough time and patience, I am not averse to a low-key dogship.

After there has been enough time, you will find that I am developing into a beautiful butterfly from the bumpy June Bug. I may be a misfit, but adorably so. My foster fam is seeing a mischievous streak come out where I am starting to steal socks and giving them adorable butt wiggles from a distance. I enjoy dining on my own in the yard and getting salmon treats. I am starting to like walks too and love my yard zoomies!

I know I have so much potential and all I need is patience and love from a distance while I decompress. A quiet yard and a calm zone will benefit me when I am feeling overwhelmed. It will also be fun for my nightly zoomies with my squeaky toy! I am mellow and I will prefer a home with tranquility. I would like to be in a home without kids, or gentle and older kids. If you think you have the space in your heart and home for a wee June Bug, come and say hello! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
