Rev up Your Life with Harley!

Hi pals, I’m Harley! I’m a 2-year-old, 36-pound bundle of energy and love. My breed mix is a mystery, but think of me as a border collie, husky, and shepherd rolled into one. My journey started in Mexico, where I was found with undiagnosed diabetes that led to cataracts. Thankfully, The Animal Pad rescued me and arranged for surgery that saved most of my vision. Now, I’m ready to be your adventurous and affectionate wingman!

I’m a high-energy pup who loves to explore, but I also know how to take it easy and nap like a champ. I’m a working dog at heart, which means I enjoy being challenged with activities like walking, hiking, running, and playing sports. My leash skills and obedience have improved a lot, but sometimes my herding instincts make me bark or whine for a few seconds. Don’t worry, I take redirection easily and love engaging in play, training, agility, tricks, and frisbee.

I get along with other dogs, although I can be a bit vocal and come on strong at first—my husky side showing. But with guidance and repetition, I quickly feel comfortable and become a sweet pal. I haven’t been around cats or small children, so a home with teens or adults would be ideal. In the home, I’m low maintenance: crate, place, and potty trained. I enjoy being close without being clingy, and I don’t have separation anxiety. I’m happy snoozing in front of a fan while you do your thing.

I do have diabetes, which means my meals need to be measured to ensure consistent caloric intake, and I require insulin injections with my meals. The veterinary care for my diabetes is easy peasy! Despite this, I’m a healthy, active dog who loves life and is ready to share it with you.

I’m a smart pooch with a high potential. I’ve had months of training to build a solid foundation for success. I’ll be supported after my adoption as well, so you won’t be alone in helping me adjust. I need a semi-active home with someone who can manage my diabetes and provide the guidance I thrive on.

Want to go for a drive? Let’s ride! Want to go for a hike? Let’s go! Want to watch Netflix? Let’s chill. I’m ready to be your ride-or-die guy, filling your life with joy, excitement, and lots of love. Ready to hit the road with Harley? Let’s chat more!

My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
