Looking for: An all adults home with a dog best friend who will help him build confidence and decompress. He would love to be active and outdoorsy. Most importantly, he would like a pawrent who will advocate for him and love him patiently.

Special needs: Grizz can be really touch sensitive. He cannot be picked up and is still working on confidence building around new things but is curious and loves to explore on his terms. He occasionally resource guards his toys and food but has made significant improvements. He still guards his crate, so keep away from his kennel.

Adoption Fee: $ 250

Grizz has got the rizz!

Hi, there! My name is Grizz. I’m a 3-year-old, 13-pound Terrier mix. I’m spunky, playful, and undeniably lovable. My rescue story isn’t exactly a walk in the park. I was found on the streets of Riverside and as I was being rescued, I was chased into a yard with three large dogs. I was attacked and it’s taking me some time to decompress. TAP rescued me off the euth list due to being snappy and protective of my space. I’ve already made great strides in my foster home and I can’t wait to feel the love and safety of a furever family!

I’m a dog’s-dog who adores other pooches. Big or small, I love to play! Once I develop a bond with my person, I’ll be your loyal little dude. I like to cuddle and be a sweetie, but it’s important to be aware of my warning signs. I will snap if someone tries to grab my belly or scratch my bottom. I do well out in public, but need someone who will advocate for me so that strangers know how to respect my boundaries. For this reason, it’s best if I’m not in a home with kids. I love going on hikes and exploring new spaces! I am a big fan of playing with toys, walks, and being your pawsonal shadow.

I’m fully bathroom and leash-trained which makes the humans happy! I will go into my crate and can be coaxed in with a treat-filled Kong. I can sometimes be protective over my space, toys, and food. Due to my past trauma, I’m sensitive to touch. I will give warnings, but I will nip if I feel unsafe. That being said, I’ve already come SO far in my foster home and know that I’ll only continue growing in the love and security of a home.

With my spunk, cuddles, and playful pawsonality, I’m impossible not to love! I form a strong bond with my people and love other pooches too. I would thrive with another playful pup who can be my bud and show me the ropes. I would love to join a family where I can be active and get outside. I definitely prefer your company to being home solo. I would love a human who understands what I’ve been through and can help train me into the best boy that I can be. Will that special person be you? I sure hope so!

You can also check me out of my foster sibling’s Insta @finnthefox (I have my own story highlight saved!). My foster mom also likes to brag about me on her page @josienordgren. I hope to see you in real life soon!

My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
