Spice it up with this lovebug!

Hi, pals! My name is Ginger, and I’m a 4-year-old, 21-pound Dachshund mix.  I’m a loving girl who has come all the way from Tijuana looking for my furever home!  I’ve already been spayed, and I’m crate-trained, leash-trained, and potty-trained to boot. As far as my health is concerned, I have bilateral luxating patellas that are grade 2/3.  Thankfully, surgery won’t be needed, but I should be monitored and evaluated by an established vet.  Currently, I’m taking Dasuquin, which is about $40 for a five-month supply.

First and foremost, I just love my humans, and I have so much love and loyalty to offer.  I’m a lower-energy type of gal who loves to cuddle and relax on the couch next to my humans.  When I do get spurts of energy, I enjoy playing fetch, chasing other doggie friends, and saying hi to people when on my walks around the neighborhood.   Currently, I’m working on my moderate separation anxiety and my jealous tendencies.  (If I see you petting another animal, I have to run up to you and be pet, too).

My dream home would be one where I receive endless love and affection!  I’d prefer my humans to either work from home or be at home most of the day.   However, I think I could adapt to a family who does not work from home if I had the right training.  A yard would be ideal, too, but I think I could manage without one.

I think I’d be okay as an only dog, but I’d prefer to have a doggie sibling since I get reassurance and confidence from others.  My furever home could have cats in it, as well.  Although I won’t play with them, I don’t mind co-existing in a shared space.  I’m unsure about kids, but given my loving nature towards humans, I think I would probably be just fine around them.

So, what do you say – are we a match made in heaven?  My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
