The perfect family dog!

Ahoy, mateys! My name is Captain, and I’m a 3-year-old, 84-pound Great Dane Mix male.  I’m a proud TVT survivor and have already been neutered.  I’ve come all the way from the streets of TJ (along with my pal, Marvel), and I’m currently on the lookout for the perfect home.

I’m a sweet and quiet boy who just wants to be loved.  I have a chill and calm demeanor, and I get along with doggies and kiddos of all ages.  My favorite activities include going on walks, being outdoors, and play-wrestling with my humans.  I’m happiest, though, when all my family is home and giving me all their love and attention.

As far as training goes, I’m mostly potty-trained, but I’ll still mark other indoor spaces when in new environments.  I’m working on leash-training (I still pull a bit here and there), but I have no doubt I’ll master it in no time. What I’m focused on most right now, though, is my moderate separation anxiety.  I can become pretty destructive to the home when left alone, so it’s best for me to be left in a crate.  I’m also good at finding ways to escape when I’m by myself, so it’s highly recommended that I’m not left behind for long periods of time.  It’s also a good idea that my new home have a high and sturdy fence to ensure I stay safe and secure.

My ideal home would be one that has someone at home most of the day to give me company. I have a lot of patience (especially for little kids), so I’d do well in a house with or without children.  Other than that, I’d thrive with someone who can give me enough love, walks, and patience to work through my separation anxiety issues.

Are you ready to steer the ship over to meet me? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
