Everyone’s sweet friend!
Hey there, friends! My name is Albus, and I’m a sweet, 14-year-old Terrier Mix, weighing in at 68 pounds. I’m a seasoned gentleman who was rescued from SEACCA in Downey, California—just in the nick of time! Now, I’m beyond grateful for this second chance to enjoy my golden years in a loving home.
I’m an easygoing, cuddly guy who adores pets, belly rubs, and lounging on the couch with my favorite humans. I have a calm, mellow personality, and I’m perfectly happy snoozing in my crate most of the day—especially if there’s a soft bed in there! Sunbathing is my jam, and I have a little habit of stealing toys and bringing them back to my crate. Oh, and did I mention? I’m food obsessed. Just shake my food bowl to see me waddle over with excitement. But fair warning—I do tend to resource guard around other pups when it comes to my food.
I have osteoarthritis, so I move a little slower these days. I take Galliprant (~$95/month; price dependent on market supply and where purchased) for pain management, Dasuquin Chews (~$40 for a two month’s supply; price dependent on market supply and where purchased) for joint support, and Lubricant eye drops, as needed. Because of my limited mobility, I’d do best in a home with no or very few stairs, and I’ll need help getting in and out of the car or onto the couch. Lifting me (all nearly 70 pounds of me!) is a must. I also haven’t been neutered.
I’m fully crate-trained and leash-trained, but because of my osteoarthritis, I can’t go far on my walks. I’m mostly potty-trained, but I do have occasional accidents around the house. I also have a curious chewing habit, so I can’t resist shoes, clothes, laundry baskets, and even video game controllers—so be sure to keep those out of my reach!
I’d thrive in a calm, low-activity home where I can take it easy. I’m good with gentle kids and would do well with calm, easy-going doggie siblings. More than anything, I just want love, attention, and a cozy place to spend my golden years.
My adoption fee is $100 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
