One big lovebug!
My name is Edie, and I’m a 5-year-old, 78-pound Bloodhound female mix with a heart as big as my floppy ears! I’ve been through a lot—I spent my whole life as a street dog in Mexicali until I was rescued. I was in pretty rough shape at the time, as I’d been hit by a car and had a shattered fibula. But thanks to the amazing folks at TAP, I got the care I needed, and even though I lost a leg, I gained a whole new lease on life! Now, I’m living it up with my foster family and dreaming of finding my furever home.
I’m a total sweetheart who loves to snuggle, get pets, and nap all day long. I get along great with other dogs, but my absolute favorite are kids—I have four little human foster siblings, and I take my job of keeping them safe very seriously! I’ll bark to alert if strangers are coming up to the house and watch over my family like the loving protector I am.
On the training front, I’m a pro—I’m fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. I do get a little sad when left alone but only show mild symptoms of separation anxiety. Since I’m a tripod, I do best in a home with carpet or rugs to help me get around easier. Right now, I take Carprofen for pain management (~$25/month), and I have follow-up x-rays scheduled for April. I haven’t been spayed yet, but that’s in the plans, along with a dental procedure, once I’m ready.
I’d be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day, and I’d love to have kids or other doggies to keep me company. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, snuggly best friend, I’d love to meet you! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
