Adoptable: Elle

Age: 10 years old

Gender: Female

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Weight: 6 lbs

Personality: Super snuggly and total grandma vibes.

Education: Needs help with pee breaks.

Favorite Activities: Walking, Eating and Cuddling

Looking for: A companion for her golden age, where she can have bathroom breaks and lots of snuggle time. Someone patient who can help her along her dementia.

Special needs: Elle is deaf and partially blind. At night, she needs lights on to navigate and will tend to stay where it is brighter. She can follow us around, but can easily trip on items. She does not have depth perceptions - so you would need to block stairs off so she doesn't fall. She's had some sort of injury and her back legs are more stiff. However, overall she gets along pretty well. I also believe she has some age related "dementia" - she walks in big circles and occasionally will stop and stare for a few seconds. She either is walking or sleeping - I have never seen her just sit down and observe. She has so few teeth left, we can only give her soft food so we also mix water into her canned food. It can take her a while to eat. She's been underweight - so we have also been feeding her a can of wet food a day typically three meals. She is taking Prednisone (~$5.00 for 2 months. Price depends on where purchased and market value) Will need to be weaned off under the direction and care of a vet

Adoption Fee: $ 150

Elle is the belle of the….bed!

Hi, I’m Elle! I’m a 10-year-old, 6 lb spayed Chihuahua mix, and I’m as sweet as they come. I was rescued from Los Adoptables when my owner went to jail. When it comes to bathroom habits, I have some quirks. I can’t always go potty when I’m on cement, but if I’m on grass, I know exactly what to do! I need a little help and frequent potty breaks (about every hour or so) to avoid accidents, and I sometimes wear diapers when I’m left alone, though they can slip off since I’m so tiny. But I’m good at holding it overnight, and I’m always ready for cuddles when I wake up.

I have been through a lot since then: ear infection, tooth extraction, mole removal, ongoing cough. Granma’s will do granma things after all. I may have a few special needs due to my age and health, but I promise I’m worth it! I’m a bit deaf and partially blind, which means I like to stay in brighter areas at night and sometimes I might bump into things (I don’t always see them coming). I’m also dealing with some stiff back legs and a bit of age-related “dementia,” so I can walk in circles or stop and stare for a few seconds. But hey, I’m still spry enough to get around, even if I need a little extra help. I’m not super active, but I do love my walks and I enjoy eating my soft food (since I only have a few teeth left). I am taking Prednisone (~$5.00 for 2 months. Price depends on where purchased and market value). I will need to be weaned off under the direction and care of a vet. I may be underweight, but I’m getting better, and I enjoy eating my meals throughout the day.

I am indeed the best cuddler and so sweet when I am not getting my 10,000 steps in 😉 . Besides my bathroom stuff, I am such an easy dog and won’t get into any trouble. I just want my golden years to be with a loving companion. I am actually dog, cat and kid friendly. But I am teeny tiny and you got to keep me with smaller and calmer dogs and people so that I dont get trampled!

I’m looking for someone with patience, preferably someone who works from home or is retired, to help with my potty breaks and feedings. I don’t need much beyond that—I’m very easygoing and love to cuddle! I’d be happiest in a calm home where I can just spend my golden years hanging out with you. I do well with other dogs (I’ve got a doggy friend named Homer), but I prefer a peaceful environment since I’m a little slower than most. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, cuddly companion to share your home with, I might just be your girl! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
