Captain Uhura Reporting for Duty!

Greetings, Earthlings! I’m Uhura, a 1-year-old, 20-pound Shepherd mix. I’ve been on quite the journey—originating from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico, where I was nursed back to health by a vet assistant from Los Adoptable. Now, I’m ready to find my furever home and explore new galaxies with you!

I may be shy at first, but once I’ve had time to warm up, you’ll see how sweet and affectionate I can be. I love greeting my human with a wagging tail and gentle nudges for pets. With a little patience, I’ve come out of my shell a lot, especially during walks. Once I trust you, I’m all about cuddles and playtime! Speaking of play… I adore plush toys! I get along well with other pups and love to romp around. However, I prefer a slow introduction. I’m dog-friendly, but like to take my time before jumping in at warp-speed.

If you’re into exploring, I’m the pawfect companion. I can easily go on 3-4 mile walks. My energy level is moderate, but I can keep up with all of your outdoor adventures. The only thing that holds me back sometimes is stairs! I can totally handle them, but I might need a little encouragement at first because I get a bit nervous.

I’m out of this world when it comes to training– I’m bathroom, house, and leash trained. I do sometimes whimper when my humans leave but it doesn’t last long. I’m just learning that even if my crew isn’t around, I’ll be safe until they return.

My ideal furever home would be with someone who can be patient with me while I continue building confidence. I haven’t met cats or kids yet, but older kids might be a good fit. Another dog to play with would be amazing, but I also love the company of my humans. Since I’m still a bit shy around new things, a home that isn’t too chaotic would help me thrive. Are you ready to embark on a lifelong mission with me? Beam me up to your home, and we’ll explore the galaxy together!

My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
