Personality: Buddy is extremely friendly, with a chill and mellow personality. He loves nothing more than being close to people, cuddling, and asking for all the belly rubs you can give him. He is even content to lay his head on your lap all day long if you let him. He loves doggie friends – big and small – and will always go up another pup on a walk and say hi. He’s great at sharing his toys, too, and has never shown any type of aggression. Buddy is very interested in kitties but hasn’t yet met one who will let him get close enough to interact. As far as children are concerned, Buddy loves them. Due to his size, though, he might be too much for little ones since he likes to jump up and sit on laps.
Education: Buddy is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. He pulls a bit while on the leash but walks well otherwise. He currently doesn’t have any separation anxiety, but he’ll need some time to adjust to his new environment and routine and learn to trust that his new family won’t be abandoning him.
Favorite Activities: Buddy loves cuddling! He’s the happiest when he’s by your side, or even better, laying on top of you. He also enjoys movies, getting treats, and taking short walks.
Looking for: If you want a dog that’s going to give you the most affection you’ve ever had, Buddy is your guy. He would prefer to be in a home where someone is around fairly often each day. Doggie siblings would be great, too, since he would enjoy the company. Due to his arthritis, Buddy can’t go to a home where he has to walk up and down a flight of stairs to go to the bathroom.
Special needs: Buddy has arthritis in his back legs and needs anti-inflammatory and pain meds to live a comfortable life (he gobbles up his meds easily when combined with the rest of his food). Because of his condition, he only needs a couple of short walks a day and will be happy to spend the rest of his time lounging on the couch with you.
