Personality: Cookie is a high energy dog who needs lot of exercise. She enjoys chasing a ball and frisbee but doesn't bring it back. Her favorite is wrestling, playing and chasing other small dogs the same approximate age as her. She can be left alone uncrated following exercise if she's tired out. She has a prey drive, a scavenger drive and is shy and unsure of strangers but this can be remedied with time and patience and holding her in your arms. While she enjoys being close to her person/s, she is not clingy per say although she'll follow you around in the house and want to near you. She could use some more training as she does bark at strangers if she is off leash or strangers walking by the house, which is something she enjoys (being off leash) but would take time to get to that point unless the area is fenced as she needs to establish an emotional bond with you and view you as her person/s first. She is very smart and knows a lot of commands but will listen better if you keep boundaries and rules in place so she feels secure and it helps with reducing behavioral issues (becoming demanding) as well or she will become needy if you don't provide the structure she needs. She enjoys spending time chewing beef bully sticks or beef marrow bones as well, which is a nice way to keep her busy should you have things to do. She does not exhibit any separation anxiety and loves car rides and belly rubs of course.
Education: Bathroom trained, working on perfecting leash manners with treats and redirection.
Favorite Activities: Playing, wrestling and chasing other dogs or toys.
Looking for: Cookie will be a loyal companion and provide you lots of love. Cookie loves dogs! She has prey drive and so no cats for her. She would prefer an all adult home and doesnt get along well with kids. She is used to being VERY active. She desires a person/s who will give her a life full of activity in the world outside your house and yard. While she enjoys being your sidekick and going places with you, she is not a purse or stroller dog and that would NOT be enough for her. She can be left at home inside without issues IF she's a tired dog from exercising. She would become depressed and unhappy without dog friends and without off-leash time to play ball or enjoy frisbee time although she may be overwhelmed at a dog park. She is a rugged tomboy type of dog. She is not suited for just lounging or being a lap dog although she's happy to be held and loved and is very affectionate.
Special needs: She has allergies and needs to be on high quality diet such as raw or raw dehydrated. May feed fresh pet food with limited ingredients once all specific allergies are known. No canned and especially no kibble.
