A big heart, a big brain, and ready for his next big adventure!
Hi, I’m Chad — and I’m back with The Animal Pad through no fault of my own. I was adopted as an 8-week-old puppy and grew into a big, smart, very loving almost-2-year-old boy… maybe a little too big for condo life. I’m a social butterfly who thrives on connection, activity, and having things to do! My former home just couldn’t give me the space, stimulation, and playtime I need to truly flourish. I’m healthy, house-trained, and ready for a fresh start!
I’m incredibly smart and learn fast — my brain is always on. I love puzzles, sniff mats, lick mats, bully sticks, and anything that keeps me busy (bonus points if food is involved). I’m affectionate to my core and happiest when I’m close to my person. I’ll gently remind you I’m there with a paw or a nose nudge, and I’m an elite snuggler who believes personal space is optional. I love car rides, outings, and exploring the world! I’d be thrilled to keep learning so I can go even more places with you.
I enjoy other pups and used to be a big fan of the dog park, especially wrestling and rolling around with my buddies. After a scary incident with an aggressive dog, I’m more cautious and alert around new dogs. Because of that, I’ll prefer slow, thoughtful introductions and a confident handler who can help me rebuild trust and confidence at my pace. I’ve never bitten a dog or a person, and my ruff-housing during play is just my enthusiasm!
I don’t have separation anxiety, but I do get lonely. I prefer company, stimulation, and a life where I’m not cooped up all day. I’d thrive in a home with a yard where I can run, play, and sniff, then come back inside to resume my rightful place on the couch (or your bed). Small kids probably aren’t the best fit simply because I’m strong and bouncy and could knock someone over by accident, but teens or adults would be great.
My ideal home is active but not chaotic — someone patient, strong, and engaged, whether that’s a single person or a family. Another dog could be wonderful for me with proper introductions. Most of all, I need a home that understands I’m just a big, loving, energetic boy who needs space, structure, and companionship. Give me that, and I’ll give you loyalty, laughs, cuddles, and a very handsome bestie for life!
My adoption fee is $350 and includes my spay, vaccinations, and microchip. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out the form here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
