Run (Close To) The Border Poker Run

Join Vet Runs and The Animal Pad for a poker run road rally! It starts and finishes at the Imperial Beach VFW Hall, and we’ll be launching two groups – one at 8:30am and one at 9am. Best part is that all proceeds from the event will go to TAP!

Playing cards will be distributed at checkpoints along the route, and the best poker hand will win exciting prizes.

The route winds through San Ysidro, into the  mountains and includes checkpoints at Thousand Trails Pio Pico Resort and with TAP volunteers! Participants who make a donation to the Animal Pad will receive an additional raffle ticket.

Entrance is $50 per car and includes two free beverages at the VFW and two raffle tickets.

Rules & Prizes:
*  $50 per car includes two free beverages at the VFW at the finish and two raffle tickets
*  5 cards distributed at 5 checkpoints. Cards will be in envelopes. It will be “no peek” poker – envelopes to be opened at the finish. Some envelopes will contain bonus raffle tickets.
*  Raffle prizes will include a Vintage Fredrik Akesson PRS SE Guitar, two Grandstand tickets for Thursday practice at the Las Vegas Formula 1 race, and a $100 gift certificate to the Porsche Experience, Los Angeles. Poker prizes will be themed prize packages – We currently have a golf package and will be adding a sports themed package and a “taste of IB” package, among others.
