Hi, I’m Chula, a 4-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 38 lbs and have been spayed. I was rescued from a shelter in Mexico, where the conditions were really tough, but I’m so happy to be safe now! I’m a sweet, gentle girl with a heart of gold. I’m still learning to trust humans, especially adult males, but once I do, I’ll give you all the love and loyalty I have to offer. I’m bathroom trained and do well with a set schedule.

I’m very calm and relaxed, but I can get a little energetic when I first wake up, especially in the mornings. I even have a cute “Chula hop” when I’m excited to see you! I am still nervous around men and get worried. I don’t bark, and I’m not aggressive at all, I just like to keep my distance and retreat to my safe spots when I’m feeling uncertain. I love to relax on soft spots around the house, whether that’s a comfy bed, a spot between the couch and table, or just curling up on the couch with you for a movie. I’m not really into toys, but I’m all about receiving affection, tummy rubs, and hugs. I enjoy walks in the afternoon and will happily walk by your side.

I’m a very kind and smart girl, and with consistent reassurance, I’ll thrive. I’m looking for a family that is patient and understanding, especially when it comes to building trust. Smaller children might make me nervous at first, but I do great with tweens and teens. My ideal home would be calm, where I don’t have to rebuild my relationship with an adult male right away. If you’re kind, patient, and willing to help me continue my journey of trust and love, I’ll reward you with a heart full of devotion and a wagging tail that’ll make you smile every day! I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can feel safe and loved. Positive reinforcement and words of affirmation will help me a lot! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
