Description

Gambit’s your calm companion, ready for her furever endgame!

Checkmate! Oops, I mean… hi there! My name is Gambit, I’m a 5-year-old, 47-pound mixed-breed cutie. I’m a quiet queen, learning the game one move at a time.  I came from the ESLR “shelter” in Mexico, and while I’m safe now, I’m gaining confidence as I explore the world. Don’t worry, we’ll be making moves together in no time!

I’m a gentle soul– very sweet, a bit shy, but also curious. I love physical affection and attention. Once I realize you’re on my team, I melt right into you! Walks are one of my favorite daily rituals, along with toys, bully sticks, and any chance to be close to my person. I don’t react to other dogs barking on walks and don’t seem to have a prey drive, but I’m still pretty new to social situations, so slow introductions and patience are key.

I’m crate trained and sleep through the night with no accidents. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m an easy girl to care for. I walk nicely on-leash with a harness (collars aren’t really my thing), and I do my best to let you know when I need to go outside. I may slip up occasionally, but I’m figuring it out. Practice makes pawfect!

I’m still learning the rules of this big, busy world, so my ideal home would be mellow and full of love and affection. I’d do best as your one-and-only for now, where I can build confidence, trust, and a strong bond without too many distractions. I don’t need constant activity or chaos—just a patient human willing to let me play the game at my own pace.

Why adopt me? Because I’m low-maintenance, deeply loving, and incredibly special! I may not rush the opening move, but once I bond with you, I’ll be your most devoted companion for life. If you’re looking for a quiet best friend who will choose you every time, I think we might be a winning strategy together!

My adoption fee is $250 and includes my spay, vaccinations, and microchip. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out the form here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
