Description
Loving and loyal!
My name is Thing 2, and I’m a neutered 2 year old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at 60 pounds. I’m a part of the Cat in the Hat litter that was rescued in Mexico last year during the Thanksgiving holiday, and I’m ready to put that all behind me and find a loving furever home!
After I was scooped up by TAP, I had a bit of a rough go for a couple of months trying to adjust to all the change. I am still a little nervous about new people and environments at first, but taking Prozac to manage my anxiety helps. I’ve worked hard on my training and have already mastered crate-training, potty-training, and leash-training. I’m extremely food motivated, too, and will do almost anything for a tasty treat, which makes training and meeting new people a much easier experience for me.
My favorite activities include playing with doggie friends, being near and cuddling with my humans, sunbathing in the backyard, and chasing lizards. I also enjoy playing fetch, going on walks, and riding in a car!
I am a loving and loyal boy once you’ve earned my trust. Being naturally cautious, it can take some time to warm up to new people; but once I do, I love hard!
My ideal home would be with an owner who will give me a few days to settle in. It’s not going to be too long, I promise! I let my foster mom walk me less than 24 hours being in the home, and I was cuddling with her after about 3 days there. I don’t have separation anxiety and will be fine even with a family that works outside of the home, whether I stay in the crate or not.
I am looking for someone willing to do a couple walks per day, and they don’t need to be super long, but I will gladly do long walks or hikes or any activities my family is up for!
I’d also thrive in a home with a confident and friendly doggie sibling who could help me gain my confidence and overcome my trust issues, but I can be and only dog in the house, too. I like dogs of all sizes and energy levels! No kitties or younger children, please, but would appreciate lots of love and patience so that I can become the goodest boy I can be, super easy and loving!
My adoption fee is $200 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
