Personality: Very sweet and cuddly! Hippo is very pleasant to walk if there are no other dogs in the area. He is learning to be more confident and less reactive. He likes routine so someone that can create some structure for him would be ideal because it helps his anxiety. He is a medium energy dog and is good with a couple of walks a day.
Education: Good with bathroom and leash training and is working on leash reactivity: he pulls and lunges when he sees another dog so he needs a strong handler. He has moderate separation anxiety but does fine crated 8 hrs. while foster is at work.
Favorite Activities: Tug of war, long night walks, hanging out in the kitchen
Looking For: An active family who will love him and play with him! Some patient training will help him be the best boy ever! He will do best as an only dog right now. Hippo likes routine so someone who can create some structure for him would be ideal to help with his anxiety! A family with kids would be good, too - he has been great with kids of all ages, even with toddlers! A home with a backyard in a quiet neighborhood would be great! Someone that is not gone long hours would be ideal.
