Personality: Affectionate, calm, and playful. Scottie is polite to a fault - he even takes treats very gently with his front teeth so he won’t nip. He’s relaxed on walks, ignoring barking dogs, and LOVES his plush toys. He gets a little intimidated by large dogs at first and just needs a little patience to get to know them, and he is very good with small and medium dogs.
Education: Scottie is house- and leash-trained. He is a fast learner! He picked up “sit” in under 5 minutes and knows to wait calmly outside the kitchen while meals are prepared. He responds to a firm “uh-uh” when redirected and understands “up” when you pat your legs for him to put his paws up for pets.
Favorite Activities: Long walks, outdoor time, napping, and playing—whether it’s with plush toys, other dogs, or you! He also enjoys learning new tricks, especially when treats are involved.
Looking For: An active, loving family with a consistent routine. He thrives with calm but confident leadership and multiple brisk walks throughout the day. He’ll do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods several days a week. Scottie will ask for a a little patience during his transition period. He may bark when first left alone as he adjusts to his new environment. His foster family is happy to provide guidance and tips to help with this.
