The Animal Pad has developed a rescue network in Baja California and forged a relationship with a sister shelter in Ensenada.
The team from San Diego visit this shelter and take dogs as often as funds allow. Their aim is to now build, operate and maintain a no-kill animal shelter for these animals. This would be the model to expand into other cities, and help others who would like to create similar shelters. They get dogs the veterinary care they need, good nutrition, find foster homes, rehabilitate and facilitate adoptions into loving homes.
Word from the team.We first visited the shelter in Ensenada, Mexico in 2016 and were horrified at the shocking lack of support and funding this shelter receives and how hard it is for the dedicated volunteers to even feed the dogs let alone treat them for their illnesses. We’re committed to raising funds and visiting this shelter regularly to get as many dogs as possible out. Please take the time to watch this video and help.
