TAPACT: Meeting of the Minds- Session Two
March 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This meeting is for anyone who wants to come and lend their voice to help make permanent change! This is our 2nd meeting and we will have lots of updates to share! Please come armed with your ideas and any info on contacts that would be helpful in this battle!
For those of you who were unable to attend our inaugural meeting- we are tackling the puppy selling that happens at the Border. We’ve all seen it- the guys who walk up and down the aisles of cars waiting to cross. They have teeny, tiny puppies who are too young to be away from their mothers and almost always sick. They pray on the sympathy of tourists to buy these puppies— and tourists usually do. This creates an issue on both sides of the Border and enables needless suffering that we want to put an end to. We want to continue our conversation and have another major brainstorming session with whoever wants to put an end to this decades- long problem. So come join us and use your voice to make a difference!
We ask that everyone coming to the meeting brings their ideas and thoughts to share. TAPACT is intended to allow the Community to come together, brainstorm solutions and put them in action to evoke permanent change. We will be forming teams to tackle each aspect individually: Data/Research, Solutions (on both sides of the Border)and Outreach. If other teams are decided on at the meeting, great! Again, TAPACT was formed to be a Community project and we are simply facilitating the conversation. Please come prepared to join the team that you think you can contribute the most to! Also please bring something to write notes with!
Location- Our second meeting will be held at the San Diego Humane Society in the Loomis Auditorium which is located next to the coffee cart when you arrive at the Campus. The meeting will run from 6pm-8pm and please arrive at 6pm so we can get started right away! This meeting is open to all!
TAPACT is dedicated to ending the suffering, abuse, and exploitation of dogs through information, education, and advocacy locally and globally.
The Animal Pad rescues dogs primarily from Mexico and through our journey, we have seen first hand the many issues that dogs face at the hands of humans.
We are determined to evoke permanent change in both policy and culturally. We have a battle ahead of us but we know that, working together as one voice, we can make a significant difference for these souls on both sides of the Border.
Together, we can be heard, together, we can make change, together we cant be stopped.
