Holly: Her holiday miracle was a well-deserved second chance.

Nice to meet you! My name is Holly. I’m approximately 8-10 years old and I was rescued over the holidays, making my second chance a true HOLLY-day miracle. I have a beautiful brindle coat and I’m a 44-pound boxer mix. Everyone at The Animal Pad says that I’m a very special gal. For as long as anyone from TAP can remember, I was at their partner shelter in Ensenada. For years, I watched my puppy pals come and go, patiently waiting for my turn at a new, loving life. Finally, this holiday season, my miracle happened. With a mangled paw and one eye bulging from my head, the angels at TAP didn’t know if I’d make it, but boy am I glad that they gave me a chance. After some much needed TLC and my fair share of trips to the vet, I’m a happy and healthy lady—spayed too! My bad eye had to be removed and I won’t be a paw-model anytime soon, but I’m just truly thankful to be here. Lucky for you, I show my appreciation through endless love!

Even though living at a shelter for years might break a dog’s spirit, I’m not just any old pooch. I am mellow, snuggly, and I love to love and be loved. Of course, I enjoy a good treat or bowl of food too! I haven’t met a person or dog that I didn’t like—I’m really not picky. I never bark at other dogs and try to be as polite as possible. I think kids are great and I’m even fine with dog-savvy cats. I bark at them sometimes but never bite or chase. My paw keeps me from running, but I still love going out on walks to smell all the good smells and meet all the good dogs! I do well on the leash, and I’m house trained if I have access outdoors. All and all, I’m a gentle, patient, trusting, and an overall sweetheart.

My ideal family is one with another dog that I can hang with and a yard where I can bask in the sun. However, after years in the shelter, I’m really just looking for a furever home filled with lots of love! I know I’m a bit older, but I still have a lot of life and love, and I’d be grateful to share it with you! My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adopt-today
