Will you be the one for Wilson?

Hi, there! My name is Wilson. I’m a loyal, loving boy who was born to be man’s (or woman’s!) best friend. I’m a 4-year-old, 55-pound, terrier mix. I’m neutered now. It’s no secret that I’ve had a ruff life. One look at my scars and it’s clear that I haven’t always gotten the love that I deserve. I was initially found as a stray in San Bernardino county, covered in mud and wounds. I didn’t get along with other dogs and was put on their euthanization list. My luck took a turn when The Animal Pad stepped in. I have made great progress in my physical and emotional recovery. I can’t wait to find a furever home!

Even though I greet all humans with a goofy smile and wagging tail, I’m still working on feeling comfortable around other new dogs. I love my foster’s other pooches. We play, sunbathe, eat treat together, and snuggle on the couch. I don’t think I’m a big fan of cats either. I am still working on my leash reactivity, I walk with a harness and gentle leader and have been making great strides.

Since I love my people so much, I don’t love being when left alone. I have separation anxiety and will whimper and have attempted to escape in the past. However, I am working on crate training and I’m making good pawgress! I am now house trained. Slowly but surely, I’m learning that people will come back when they leave, and I started Prozac to help with my anxiety. I’ve been through a lot, so I’m learning to feel safe and just want to be part of your pack! Once I find my furever family, I would love to continue training and building my confidence.

Even though I’ve lived a ruff life, I’m so hopeful for the future. I would do best with a solo human or couple that is home the majority of the day. I will need to continue working on my reactivity to other pooches as well as my separation anxiety, but I pawmise I’m worth it! I have the biggest heart and just want to be loved. WILL you be the special person to save sweet Wilson? I’ll keep my paws crossed! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
