Hi guys! My name is Davey and I am about 1.5 years old, male neutered Doodle and weigh about 51 lbs. I was brought to the Bonita shelter as a stray and TAP helped me out! I am at a foster home and getting much needed TLC. I am fully bathroom and crate trained, and working on the leash.
About my special needs, I was born with one kidney and has urinary incontinence. I have undergone 2 surgeries for incontinence and now have an Artificial Urethral Sphincter (hydraulic urethral occluder) which is an inflatable silicone ring around the urethra and connected to a subcutaneous injection port. I may need this occluder filled from time to time. I take a medication for incontinence, Proin ~$165.00 for 3 months supply based on market value and where purchased, and my dose is currently in the process of being adjusted. I am also on a special diet Hills Prescription Diet, Aging Care g/d ~$100 for bag of dry food and case of wet food. I wear diapers when indoors. I will need regular visits with the UC Davis urologist/nephrologist to be evaluated.
So, moving on! I am a lover of attention and cherish human touch and snuggles. I am a velcro doggo and super cuddly. I have medium energy levels and love to romp in the yard with my foster dog sibling. I get along well with dogs and kids! But on walks, I get nervous when someone stranger passes by and I hide behind my parents’ legs. I do prefer having dog siblings to keep my nervousness at bay. It helps with my separation anxiety too.
I am a sweetie who deserves all the love possible! I have a medical situation but I know someone is out there who will love me so much! For my energy and to become more confident, I would love to be with a doggie sibling! I would really appreciate someone who works from home and can provide me with company. Do you think you will be my special someone? My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
